A home standby generator protects your home automatically. It runs on natural gas or liquid propane and sits outside just like a central air conditioning unit. When the power goes out, the generator senses the loss of power and activates, providing power to your home. Once power is restored, the generator automatically shuts off and your home switches back to utility power.
Our Installation Process
Site Visit: Our process begins with a visit to your home. Our experienced personnel will talk with you about your needs and goals, in order to determine the generator size and brand that is optimal for you. This visit will consider technical aspects like your current electricity load, and practicalities such as where the generator will be located.
Customized Proposal: After the site visit, we will provide you with a customized proposal for the ordering and installation of a home standby generator. Our written proposal is straightforward, easy to read, and contains a fixed price that includes the generator, transfer switch, generator pad, any required permitting, and all installation costs. We may also offer some upgrades and options that you may select, such as remote monitoring capabilities. We are able to offer the best prices for our generators due to our longstanding relationships with our suppliers.
Installation: We will schedule the installation at a time that works for you and make every effort to deliver and install your generator in a single day. The installation process includes:
- setting the frame and pad for the home standby generator
- delivering the home standby generator and positioning it onto the pad
- connecting the home standby generator to the fuel source (propane or natural gas) including any necessary trenching
- connecting and wiring the home standby generator and the automatic transfer switch to the utility electricity source
- testing and starting up the home standby generator
- obtaining all permits that may be necessary
Service: We recommend and offer scheduled preventative maintenance services for your generator, as well as to service your generator if it is not operating properly. This maintenance prolongs the service life of your generator, ensures that it will work properly when needed, and protects your investment.
