Love these folks. First contacted them when our whole house generator hadn’t run for a few years and another company wasn’t able to get it running. Called New Hampshire generator and the owner answered the phone. After asking me two questions he knew the solution and sent a tech out that week. Adam, the technician, was awesome and had it up and running in less than 2 hours (on a brutally cold day). The owner’s diagnosis was dead on and Adam also found another problem that needed to be fixed. Since then, they have performed yearly maintenance on our generator and their technicians are always awesome and very helpful with any questions I have.

While performing the work, Adam noted that the generator was too close to the building, and didn’t meet code, and eventually would have to be moved for them to continue servicing it. This is in contrast to other generator service companies that won’t touch your generator if it doesn’t meet code. Their price to move it was very reasonable and they banged it out in a half day. More importantly, they’ve never pressured us with sales tactics to buy a new one even though our generator is over 15 years old now.

Note: Whoever performed the original installation, violated building code because the code has not changed since a number of years before it was installed.

Prior to calling New Hampshire Generator, we had hired a big-name plumbing and heating company from Manchester that supposedly specialized in generators. The technician they sent out had no idea what he was doing and spent 4 hours on the phone with the manufacturer without performing any real work and when he was done he stated that the generator was dead and needed to be replaced. A few days later they reached out to me to give me an estimate for a new generator for $15,000 and sent me a bill for the full 4 hours. Needless to say, I was pretty ticked off.

In the spring of 2023, NH Generator Installers put in a Kohler 14kw whole house generator to power our home in Tuftonboro, NH. It went live on 5 July. During the course of the next few months, we had a handful of power outages ranging from a few minutes to slightly over an hour. But the real test of the generator came with the Thursday 4 April 2024 heavy snow storm. We lost power about 1 am. It came back on for two hours, and then went off again about 6:30 am. We ran on the generator until 1 pm on Saturday 6 April, or roughly 2 1/2 days.

We couldn’t have been more pleased with the performance of our unit. In reality, we lacked power for only 8 seconds. It was like nothing happened, except for the background sound of our unit running 24/7 to keep our house fully functional. The day before the storm, our propane tanks measured between 65 and 70% full. After the street power returned, they were between 45 and 50%. We felt that the Kohler generator ran in a very fuel-efficient manner. Our thanks to NH Generator Installers, and in particular Pete, Bill, and the other members of the installation team, for providing us with a top-notch, reliable solution to power outages in this rural town that is subject to them. Without our sump pump running, we would have had roughly a foot of water in our basement after 2 1/2 days.

I called Bill the owner at 6:00 am on Monday the pre-Christmas flood. It was obviously going to be a tumultuous day in this business since so many people had no power. There was a simple issue with my Kohler generator that was quickly squared away by Bill whereby restoring power to my family. This is a great company that answers their phones and takes care of their customers.

We live in Alton Bay, NH and had NH Generators install a Kohler whole house propane-powered generator because we were concerned about a local history of power outages when we were away and pipes freezing, etc. We dealt with Bill Herlicka who responded quickly to our home, performed an assessment of our needs and provided a very reasonable estimate. During the building process, our electrician installed an automatic Kohler generator switch which took into consideration all circuits including our well pump, air infuser to the new septic system and all household circuits. We chose NH Generators (NHG) because they were responsive, Bill Herlicka was professional and he answered all our questions and we developed confidence that they would do a good job.

On the day of installation, they arrived as scheduled, brought along the new generator, wiring and accessories and everything needed to effect the installation. Bill and his electrician team acquired the required permits and neatly, efficiently and professionally installed our new generator in two days including a final inspection. The crew assigned were so professional, knowledgeable and friendly and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer job. They cleaned up after the install, tested it, fired it up and measured power adequacy to ensure it was working as intended. They also voluntarily got us a $500 manufacturers rebate, extended 10 year Kohler warranty and gave us some training how it works. They are a “one-stop” shop that provides maintenance and repairs (if ever needed) and have an on-call maintenance team certified by Kohler which is a comfort that they know what they are doing!

In conclusion, we would give Bill Herlicka, their installation team and NHG 5 stars for a job well done 👍 and we wholly-heartedly recommend their services for generator installation as they instilled confidence and exuded professionalism and a offered a very competitive price. We wholly endorse their services and suggest that you consider using them as, in our opinion, you will come away very satisfied. Our 8-year old Generac whole-house backup generator had its annual PM performed this past Monday. Grayson was efficient and knowledgeable as a new employee. He recommended installing a new battery. Sure enough, when the original battery was removed it was swollen on one side. Nice catch! We have had 3 unplanned service calls over the years. None was an emergency. Adam showed up each time and took care of us promptly. Once we had a malfunctioning electronic circuit board. He cleverly reset a relay on the board by changing the power-up sequence DC/AC and it worked. We learned later a replacement board would have cost > $1000. It has not malfunctioned since. Our experience has overall been very positive with NH Generator Installers. I recommend supporting this small business.

This is a great company! I bought a house 6 years ago that had a Kohler Generator installed by these guys. They call me every year to service it and this time I needed some repair and a new battery. These guys are amazing! Due to an issue beyond their control, after a year or so one of their 2 installations at my location simply failed. Furthermore, the manufacturer was unable to remedy the warranted product. NH Generator worked with the manufacturer to find a solution nonetheless – involving a completely new installation and removal of the old product with zero cost to me. Bottom line: these guys have a great sense of responsibility for the quality and effectiveness of their work. In my experience, companies like this are truly rare.
